Jamjir Waterfall: A Hidden Gem Near Sasan Gir

Posted by Sorath Gadh Resort

Nestled in the heart of Gujarat's Gir forest, where the Asiatic lion reigns and the wild whispers in every breeze, lies a secluded waterfall worth the detour - Jamjir Waterfall. It's one of the lesser-known sightseeing points around Sasan Gir, and one of our favourite recommendations for guests looking for something beyond the usual jungle safari.

Jamjir sits inside a rocky riverbed that cuts through the forest, with water tumbling over a series of natural stone steps. It's at its fullest and most dramatic just after the monsoon, when the streams feeding into it are running strong, though it remains a scenic, peaceful spot through much of the year.

Getting There

Jamjir Waterfall is one of several sightseeing points around Gir that guests staying at Sorath Gadh Resort often combine with a half-day outing, alongside stops like the Crocodile Breeding Centre and the dam site at Kamleshwar. It's a short drive from the resort, and easily arranged with a local guide or driver.
